People Experience Advisor - Employee Relations - Derby - 1 month with potential for extension - Umbrella £325 per day.
Position Summary
The People Experience Advisor serves as a trusted business partner, providing expert guidance on employee relations matters to ensure a positive, compliant, and productive workplace environment. This role requires hands-on case management to support managers and employees through complex workplace situations while upholding organizational values and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations Case Management Investigate and resolve employee relations issues including workplace conflicts, performance concerns, policy violations, and grievances. Conduct thorough, impartial investigations while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring fair process. Document cases comprehensively and recommend appropriate corrective actions or resolutions.
Advisory and Consultation Partner with managers and leaders to provide guidance on employee relations best practices, disciplinary actions, performance management, and workplace policies. Offer proactive coaching to prevent issues from escalating and support managers in handling sensitive conversations and decisions.
Compliance Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field. Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) preferred. Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years focused on employee relations or similar investigative role.
Demonstrated expertise in employment law, investigation techniques, and conflict resolution. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in relevant field or additional certifications in workplace investigations, mediation, or employment law. Experience in multi-location or global organizations. Background in change management or organizational development.
This position reports to the Global Senior People Experience Partner and requires occasional travel to support field locations. The role demands high emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, and ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.
