Regulatory Operations & Oversight Analyst

£300 per day | 12-month contract | City of London

We are currently recruiting for a Regulatory Operations & Oversight Analyst to join a leading financial services organisation on an initial 12-month contract, based in the City of London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Regulatory Operations or Middle Office professional to take ownership of daily EMIR and SFTR oversight controls, support regulatory reporting activities and contribute to wider regulatory change initiatives.
Working within the European Regulatory Operations team, you will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of regulatory reporting, overseeing third-party providers and identifying opportunities to strengthen operational processes and controls.

The role

  • Perform daily EMIR and SFTR oversight controls, covering trade, valuation and collateral reporting to Trade Repositories, including DTCC.

  • Monitor and investigate reporting exceptions, ensuring errors and discrepancies are resolved promptly.

  • Oversee EMIR delegated reporting arrangements with third-party providers.

  • Conduct EMIR pairing and matching controls.

  • Produce and monitor operational KPIs, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

  • Review existing processes, identify control weaknesses and recommend enhancements to mitigate operational risk.

  • Investigate recurring issues, establish root causes and implement practical solutions.

  • Manage relationships with external service providers, including performance monitoring and service reviews.

  • Draft and maintain operational procedures and control documentation.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on regulatory projects, supporting the implementation of new processes and operational change.

  • Coordinate multiple initiatives, facilitate workshops and work closely with Operations, Portfolio Management, IT, Legal and other stakeholders.

About you

We are keen to hear from candidates with:

  • Around 2–3 years' experience in Middle Office, Investment Operations or Regulatory Operations.

  • Practical experience with EMIR and/or SFTR regulatory reporting, ideally within an asset management environment.

  • Exposure to OTC derivatives, Exchange-Traded Derivatives (ETD), central clearing and/or collateral management.

  • Understanding of Trade Repository reporting, delegated reporting, pairing and matching, and exception management.

  • Experience supporting regulatory change, operational projects or process improvement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.

  • Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.

  • Fluent English; additional European languages would be advantageous.
