Senior Risk & Finance Data Governance Analyst
The Opportunity:
This pivotal role sits at the heart of our EMEA BCBS239 Programme, where you will lead the implementation of data governance across Risk and Finance domains. You’ll work with senior stakeholders to establish best-in-class data management practices, supporting our ambition to meet evolving regulatory requirements and embed a culture of openness, transparency, and data-driven innovation.
As a subject matter expert, you’ll help influence the data culture—educating and engaging senior stakeholders to champion the importance of governance in an evolving, highly regulated environment.
- Salary: Day Rate £600
- Contract Duration: 6 months
- Hybrid: 2 days office based and 3 days working from home
The Main Duties:
- Lead data governance activities aligned to BCBS239 across Risk & Finance functions
- Define and manage end-to-end data lineage, quality, and governance for critical use cases
- Collaborate across business, compliance, and technology teams to shape and embed data standards
- Actively participate in data governance forums, contributing to both regulatory compliance and strategic transformation
- Support data quality investigations and drive root-cause remediation at source
- Monitor business data changes and lead governance efforts across EMEA entities
Essential Skills:
- Deep knowledge of BCBS239, risk and finance data structures, and data governance best practices
- Proven experience influencing and engaging senior stakeholders across complex organisations
- Strong working knowledge of data quality, profiling, metadata management, and governance tools (Collibra preferred)
- Analytical mindset with the ability to challenge constructively and solve problems creatively
- Experience working in Tier 1/Tier 2 banking, with a solid grasp of regulatory expectations and enterprise data frameworks
- Confident communicator with excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and understanding of data models (physical, logical, business)
- Degree educated, ideally in a quantitative field, or equivalent industry experience
Desirable skills:
- Experience in ECB onboarding, SQL, Python, Power BI/Tableau, or data engineering
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks and emerging data management trends
